With a total nearing 45,000 pilots, Harvey Watt & Co. is the largest provider and manager of professional pilot disability, AeroMedical & professional pilot life insurance in the US. Our success spanning six decades is thanks to our unique understanding of a pilot's physical requirements & how to insure it. We manage the pilot disability programs for nearly all US Airlines and provide unique supplemental Life & Disability products for many of them.
We consult with and develop disability, life insurance, supplemental LTD insurance or AeroMedical Advisory plans to meet the needs of employers & unions as well as individuals. Insurance companies partner with Harvey Watt to write Loss of License Pilot Disability Plans when they otherwise would decline the risk. We know the pilots, policy makers, doctors, and insurance companies so that we can provide the highest levels of protection at best value in the industry. We are able to help keep pilots in the cockpit or get them back to work sooner
Company History
A thirty year Eastern Pilot, Harvey Watt, recognized the unique needs of airline pilots. First hand, he saw the devastating consequences a pilot faced when a FAA certificate was lost. In 1951 he pioneered “Disability Loss of License” insurance. At a time when insurance just wasn’t available, he provided lump sum cash payment to disabled pilots so that they could use it as they wanted. Today, we’re still doing the same thing; helping pilots overcome the potential loss of flying status.
We help keep pilots flying, protect their potential, and maximize the results of their labors. Every pilot is facing a more complex world. Nothing is remaining the same and experience and knowledge are becoming more vital.
